Dear Eagle Canyon Parents,

Happy World Tourism Day! How appropriate for our school's theme of Passport to Learning. Thank you to the 10 families who responded to last week's question. Your homework passes will get passed out on Monday. This week's question: What is your favorite vacation spot? Respond below for another homework pass. 

Thank you to all the families who joined us for the Graduate Awards ceremony. We had standing room only as we celebrated our students' success. New this year, we awarded Academic Excellence medals to students who scored Advanced on the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP). We had 133 students who qualified for this recognition.

We had so much fun Friday night at our first-ever MPR Movie Night. Families camped out in the MPR and enjoyed Toy Story 5. How can they make a movie about toys so sappy? I am glad I wasn't the only one getting emotional at the end. 😅

Thank you, Eagle Canyon PTA, for decorating the MPR  and providing dessert for the Graduate Awards. It all looked amazing! Also, thank you for providing our first MPR Movie Night. It was a fun night! I loved how everyone worked together to get the MPR clean so quickly.

Important Reminders

Parent Conference Week
Parent Conference Week is this week! Every day is a minimum day. Please plan your schedules in advance to ensure your child is picked up promptly after school. 

Fall Family Festival
The Fall Family Festival is in less than a month. If you are interested in participating in the Trunk or Treat, sign up at the office. The Trunk or Treat is a success each year because of your support. When you are out shopping, please consider purchasing a bag of candy to be donated to the event. 

Tickets for the Fall Family Festival go on sale this week. Take advantage of the Early Bird prices. Ticket prices will increase on October 19.

Traffic Reminders - Updated 9/26/2026

I am sorry that I have not been as available to support the traffic at arrival and dismissal. I appreciate our families who are working together to ensure everyone arrives and goes home safely. 

Recently, I have been made aware of concerns in the neighborhood across from Eagle Canyon. The neighbors are feeling frustrated and are ready to contact the authorities to have vehicles towed. 

As a reminder, we want to treat people the way we want to be treated. Please avoid blocking driveways or parking in front of trash cans. I have had reports that the trash truck cannot empty trash cans because vehicles are double-parking in front of them. 

I appreciate your help in maintaining positive relationships with all of our neighbors.

ATTEND TODAY, ACHIEVE TOMORROW

Eagle Canyon's student attendance will continue to be a focus this year. School attendance leads to better performance in adulthood.

Please make illness the only reason for an absence. When your child misses school, they miss essential instruction, and it takes a while to catch up. Parents of students at risk of chronic absenteeism must meet with Mrs. Bearden or Mr. Fellows to sign an agreement to improve overall attendance. 

We met our district attendance goal by 1.63%.🎉  We met our goal every day last week. Thank you for making attendance a priority. 🤩

BIRTHDAY GREETINGS ON THE MARQUEE

Another way you can support our PTA and celebrate your child's birthday is to purchase a birthday greeting for $25 that will be displayed on your child's birthday and run for one week. If interested, please stop by the office, complete the request, and submit the payment. Please be sure to plan. We need two weeks' notice before the birthday to ensure everything is timed correctly.

The kids get so excited seeing their birthday highlighted on the marquee. Out of safety, we will never publish your child's last name, only the initial.

 
Curiousity character trait

September Character Trait

Each month, Eagle Canyon will focus on teaching students about a character trait. We will share it during our Monday Morning Rallies, and teachers will reinforce it by recognizing one student each month for a monthly award.

SUPPORT EAGLE CANYON

A popular fundraising opportunity that all families can support is Box Tops. Download the Box Top app on your phone. You must scan your receipts on the Box Top app within 14 days of purchasing. The app will let you know if any purchased items qualify to earn 10 cents per product. If there are no items, you will still have an opportunity to enter the sweepstakes to win 500 bonus Box Tops. Every receipt has the potential to earn our school money.

As of today, our school has earned $83.20 this year. Our goal is to earn $1,500. Congratulations, 2nd grade! You have turned in 237 Box Tops this year. Be sure to select the grade level that you want to support. Thank you in advance for your support!
 

Staff Shout-Out

The Eagle Canyon staff is committed to providing a positive school culture where we all work together to create a positive learning environment for our students. It begins when families walk onto our campus for the first time and continues each and every day. Take a moment to recognize a staff member's outstanding dedication and hard work. Your shout out will be featured in the staff newsletter for the whole staff to see. It may also be read during the Monday Morning Rally.
