Dear Eagle Canyon Parents,

Happy Sleep-In Sunday! Don't forget, you get to sleep in tomorrow, too. Monday is Labor Day, and we are closed. We will see you all on Tuesday morning.

We had a great turnout for Get Air on Wednesday night. Thanks to our PTA, our kids had a blast jumping and running all over the place. I wish I had their energy! 😁

I would like to thank the EL parents for their participation in the English Language Parent Information meeting last week. Your commitment to your child's success is a testament to the great work our students are doing each and every day.

The Patriots Day Rally is this week on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at 8:15 a.m. If you, a family member, or a close family friend serves our community as a first responder, we would love to recognize that service at the rally. After the rally, all first responders are invited to a reception in the staff lounge. If you are able to participate in the reception, please RSVP below.

Parent Conferences

Parent Conference Week is the last week of September, 9/28 - 10/2. If you have not signed up for your conference yet, please contact your child's teacher right away. Every day that week is a minimum day. Please plan your schedules in advance to ensure your child is picked up promptly after school.

School Accountability Report Card

The School Accountability Report Card can be found under the About Us tab on the Eagle Canyon website. If requested, a hard copy can be provided in the Eagle Canyon Main Office.

Traffic Reminders - Updated

Recently, there have been some concerning events happening at arrival and dismissal. We need everyone's support to keep our students safe.

It is against the law for a vehicle to enter the crosswalk when a crossing guard is directing people across the street. There have been too many instances when cars are disregarding the safety of the students and crossing guard by going through the crosswalk.
Cars are driving too fast in the parking lot. Please slow down to ensure everyone's safety.

Thank you for working with everyone to ensure our students arrive to Eagle Canyon and return home safely.

Eagle Canyon's student attendance will continue to be a focus this year. School attendance leads to better performance in adulthood.

Please make illness the only reason for an absence. When your child misses school, they miss essential instruction, and it takes a while to catch up. Parents of students at risk of chronic absenteeism must meet with Mrs. Bearden or Mr. Fellows to sign an agreement to improve overall attendance. We will be scheduling our first round of attendance meetings this week.

We missed our district attendance goal by .10%.😥 We met our goal from Tuesday to Thursday. To ensure your children are ready for the next grade and beyond, we need to make attendance a priority.

BIRTHDAY GREETINGS ON THE MARQUEE

Another way you can support our PTA and celebrate your child's birthday is to purchase a birthday greeting for $25 that will be displayed on your child's birthday and run for one week. If interested, please stop by the office, complete the request, and submit the payment. Please be sure to plan. We need two weeks' notice before the birthday to ensure everything is timed correctly.

The kids get so excited seeing their birthday highlighted on the marquee. Out of safety, we will never publish your child's last name, only the initial.

September Character Trait

Each month, Eagle Canyon will focus on teaching students about a character trait. We will share it during our Monday Morning Rallies, and teachers will reinforce it by recognizing one student each month for a monthly award.

SUPPORT EAGLE CANYON

A popular fundraising opportunity that all families can support is Box Tops. Download the Box Top app on your phone. You must scan your receipts on the Box Top app within 14 days of purchasing. The app will let you know if any purchased items qualify to earn 10 cents per product. If there are no items, you will still have an opportunity to enter the sweepstakes to win 500 bonus Box Tops. Every receipt has the potential to earn our school money.

As of today, our school has earned $65.70 this year. Our goal is to earn $1,500. Be sure to select the grade level that you want to support. Thank you in advance for your support!

Staff Shout-Out

The Eagle Canyon staff is committed to providing a positive school culture where we all work together to create a positive learning environment for our students. It begins when families walk onto our campus for the first time and continues each and every day. Take a moment to recognize a staff member's outstanding dedication and hard work. Your shout out will be featured in the staff newsletter for the whole staff to see. It may also be read during the Monday Morning Rally.
