SIXTH GRADE PARENT CHAPERONES
If you are chaperoning the Knott's Berry Farm Field Trip, please ensure you have completed the Parent Volunteer form linked below. You also must meet in the MPR by 8:30 so we can review the expectations for the day. Thank you for dedicating your day to ensuring our sixth graders have a great time.
FUN RUN DJ PARTY
DJ party this Wednesday, 5/20, 11:30-12:30 in the MPR for those who qualified (invitations were sent out). To attend, please be sure to turn in your field trip permission slip, even though it's on campus. Parents pick up at 12:30. Any questions, please call the office.
ADDITIONAL MINIMUM DAY
This week, we have two minimum days. Wednesday and Thursday are both minimum days. Please be sure to arrange for your child to be picked up on time.
BEANSTACK
In January, the Eagle Canyon PTA launched a reading program called Beanstack. It is an engaging way to motivate students to read, and each student accesses the program through their ClassLink account. They can track their time spent reading and log the books they read. Students in Grades 3 - 6 are encouraged to chat with Benny, an interactive bot, to strengthen their comprehension. So far, 70% of Eagle Canyon students have logged their reading activity.
As a school, I have challenged the students to read 60,000 minutes by the end of the year. We surpassed that goal! As of today, we have read 220,657 minutes, with Mrs. Shin's third graders leading with 4,050 minutes in May. Each week, I will highlight students, classes, and grade levels who are making significant reading progress during our Monday Morning Rally.
