CAASPP TESTING
Our CAASPP testing begins this week for students in grades 3 - 6. These assessments in English Language Arts and Math help measure student learning and guide instruction.
You can help your child feel prepared by:
- Ensuring they get a good night’s sleep
- Providing a healthy breakfast that includes a protein
- Sending them to school on time
- Offering positive encouragement and reassurance
Please remind your child to simply do their best, take their time, and not worry about getting everything right. No special studying is required—our staff will provide a calm, supportive testing environment.
Thank you for your continued partnership in supporting our students. If you have questions, please contact the school office.
BEANSTACK
In January, the Eagle Canyon PTA launched a reading program called Beanstack. It is an engaging way to motivate students to read, and each student accesses the program through their ClassLink account. They can track their time spent reading and log the books they read. Students in Grades 3 - 6 are encouraged to chat with Benny, an interactive bot, to strengthen their comprehension. So far, 68% of Eagle Canyon students have logged their reading activity. By the time we get back from Spring on April 7, I hope to have at least 75% of our students participating.
As a school, I have challenged the students to read 60,000 minutes by the end of the year. We surpassed that goal! As of today, we have read 181,053 minutes, with Ms. Le's second graders leading with 4,382 minutes in April. Each week, I will highlight students, classes, and grade levels who are making significant reading progress during our Monday Morning Rally.
