LITERACY WEEK
This week, Eagle Canyon celebrates Literacy Week. We have fun activities and spirit days to celebrate reading. Check out the flyer above so your child can participate in all the fun.
NACHO SALES ON FRIDAY
Start your weekend off with a snack! Purchasing nachos will help the Eagle Canyon PTA raise funds for a photo booth, preventing pricey rental fees for our school events.
PIZZA WITH A PURPOSE
Take a break from cooking and join other Eagle Canyon families at California Pizza Kitchen at the Shoppes for a PTA fundraiser on Wednesday, March 11. We hope to see you there!
BEANSTACK
In January, the Eagle Canyon PTA launched a reading program called Beanstack. It is an engaging way to motivate students to read, and each student accesses the program through their ClassLink account. They can track their time spent reading and log the books they read. Students in Grades 3 - 6 are encouraged to chat with Benny, an interactive bot, to strengthen their comprehension.
As a school, I have challenged the students to read 60,000 minutes by the end of the year. We surpassed that goal! As of today, we have read 90,768 minutes, with Ms. Rodriguez's fifth graders in the lead with 12,261 minutes. Each week, I will highlight students, classes, and grade levels who are making significant reading progress during our Monday Morning Rally.
